You should have many draft emails, documents….
I have accumulated many draft emails. I’d belittle myself for constantly doing this. Many were later rewritten in an email, so I would delete those drafts as I came across them.
Ditto documents.
But I discovered these drafts serve a purpose, why not intentionally take advantage of that purpose?
Writing the draft clarified my thought process on a particular matter.
Sometimes, I’d write the email then realize maybe the idea wasn’t so good after all. Other times I’d write and think, OK, good, I can come back and revisit this. Many times, I’d see an action item I could do immediately or plan on as a result of writing the draft.
Of course, I’d often send the email to its destination. And, sometimes, I’d send it knowing a correction of sorts would come back as desired.
I have a lot of work to do so I’ll publish this as is, you know, like a draft.
