When you buy from a reseller

My son’s laptop continuously crashed. I do not know how but he determined we needed to take to a certain electronics store to use their pc repair service.

At this point, I should mention we bought the laptop from a reseller on Amazon. I’ll be the first to admit I never figured out who the reseller was. The laptop was a gift from someone. I never got this aspect nailed down.

The store cannot find the computer with the model number and serial number. Roughly, this is when I got involved. I do not recall how the decision was made but we took it to another electronics store to get it repaired.

They were able to find the laptop and agreed to look at it. This begged the question, why couldn’t the first store do the same? So, we leave it there.

We were told since it was still under warranty that most likely there would be no cost to us.

At this point we go home and I start looking at the paperwork. I can see the information required to find the laptop.

The diagnostic technician at the store a few days later figured out the liquid metal had failed. I teased my son that this happened due to his gaming. Um, dad, it’s a gaming laptop.
