I agree with the sentiment. Sorry for that word. Flip it and make it more realistic. Cut 20 percent. Go from there.
Remember when companies would cut 10 percent of their contractors every year? I never worried about that. Too easy. I even got put in a protected list, which brought me all kinds of attention which I wondered about until someone told me what was going on.
If you cut xx percent there will definitely be functionality lost but those costs would be mostly offset by savings.
