Ha. I decided years ago, 'architects' or whatever current buzzword just make things overly complicated and get paid well.

I've exposed some for using big words and impressing naive people then blaming people like me when something did not work.

Your point about layers is well taken. It is often layering a more advanced technology on top of an older technology. Same thing again, the old technology gets blamed.
