And there it is, the strange comment…
A putdown that I take as a compliment
I was texting in a group and made a related but silly comment, and one responded, and ‘There it is, the strange comment’. To which, the other person, who can only pile on, responded, ‘Yep’. To which I responded, Yep, that is why I exist.
There it is, my life summarized in a phrase.
I can remember years ago, coming across a verse in the Bible speaking of a man with uncommon wisdom. I thought, God, that is what I want in my life. I would not dare to claim to have reached that.
I’m just trying to be funny, or silly, whimsical, even.
Another ‘friend’ tells me people ask me what my deal is. I don’t think that was a compliment. I asked for an example, and I am still waiting.
I am very fortunate to have one friend that I can talk about anything with, and I think he feels the same with me.
This is a bit difficult to write about, as it will seem circular. I am told to stop being strange, which I take to mean, see things like they do, be their version of ‘normal’.
If you are feeding a line of BS, I have to be really aware to not say anything, because everything in me wants to call…
